Register Your UDID First
Warning: According to Apple, beta software is intended only for installation on registered development devices. Attempting to install beta software in an unauthorized manner violates Apple policy and could render your device unusable and necessitate an out of warranty repair. Be sure that you have registered your device before installing any beta software.
Installing iOS 26 or iPadOS 26
- Register your device's UDID.
- Always backup your device before installing a new OS.
- Make sure your device is signed in with your Apple Account and running the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
- Sign in to Apple Developer with the same Apple Account and accept the Apple Developer Agreement if requested. There is no need to pay for the membership.
- Open the Settings app and go to General > Software Update > Beta Updates and choose the developer beta.
- Return to Software Update and follow the prompts to download and install the developer beta.
Installing watchOS 26
- Register your iPhone's UDID and install the iOS 26 beta as described above.
- Register your Apple Watch's UDID.
- On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app and go to My Watch > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and choose the developer beta.
- Return to Software Update and follow the prompts to download and install the developer beta.
Installing tvOS 26
- Register your Apple TV's UDID.
- Make sure your Apple TV is signed in with your Apple Account and running the latest version of tvOS.
- If you haven't already, use any device to sign in to Apple Developer with the same Apple Account and accept the Apple Developer Agreement if requested. There is no need to pay for the membership.
- On your Apple TV, open the Settings app and go to System > Software Updates > Get Beta Updates and choose the developer beta.
- Return to Software Updates and follow the prompts to download and install the developer beta.
